Emergency Medical Services
The Knight Township Fire Department responds to all medical emergencies in the county. All of our fire apparatus is equipped with automatic defibulators, suction units and oxygen. Currently the department has 24 Emergency Medical Technicians and 22 First Responders. All of our members are both CPR and First Aid certified. Vanderburgh County has a contract with American Medical Response, which provides ambulance transport at a Paramedic level. The Knight Township Fire Department also utilizes St.Mary's Lifeflight and Air-Evac from Deaconess Hospital.
We are excited to have a new medical director at Knight Township Fire Department. Dr. Patrick Fouts, an Emergency Room Physician at Deaconess Hospital, has joined the Knight Township Fire Department as our Medical Director. We look forward to having Dr. Fouts with us. His knowledge and expertise will continue to make the Knight Township Fire Department one of the best BLS non-transport agencies in the tri-state area.

A Brief History of Knight Fire
Founded in 1983, The Knight Township Fire Department faithfully serves the residents of Knight Township outside the city limits of Evansville, IN. The Knight Township Fire Department is comprised of over 65 men and women who react quickly to approximately 800 emergency calls per year. Dispatches range from minor EMS calls to multi-alarm fires. Our response area includes residential, commercial and industrial areas. We also cover a major part of the Ohio River, several highways, and Interstate 164.
